The Democratic Republic of Aralsk is a self-proclaimed nation claiming the exposed land of the former Aral sea and former islands. It has been in a perpetual state of emergency since 2010 when it was founded in response to lack of efforts to restore the Aral Sea and clean up Kantubek from Biological contamination. Kantubek which formerly was almost entirely Slavic also became the seat of the nation
